Turning Aroma Incense
Selection Of Raw Material
Incense shows its functions when it is lit. If it contains so much resin or aroma components, this will affect the quantity of smoke and tar which would be bad for health of users. Unlike the traditional way of incense production using resin and aroma components, turning incense contains non-combustible minerals help to prevent the formation of smoke with tar.
Combination Of Raw Material
Traditional incense contains about 20-30% of adhesive material. When incense burns, adhesive material affects the purity of the fragrance. To reduce the odor of the adhesives, incense usually contains 20-30% of medicinal herbs but this also affects the perfume.
Incense made by Art Lab contains only 5% of adhesive that is usually used for food, it has almost no affect on the purity of the incense perfume. Our incense is prepared without using artificial oil which causes the formation of tar and scent. You are able to enjoy natural incense fragrance.
Project And Creation Of Turning Aroma Incense
With gratitude to the improved material which inspired us to bring forward our “turning aroma incense”.
In case of traditional incense, perfume is added at the same time as the stick is made. However, unlike the usual procedure our method of atozuke (after-scent). Perfume is added after the incense stick is made, because the surface of the incense stick has a strong porosity, it can be easily penetrated by perfume (three times more than traditional incense).
By impregnating each half of the incense stick with a different perfume, we succeed in creating one incense with 2 different aromas. You are able to enjoy the scents of Kyoto scenes turning from one to another.
